iPhone 5 launched with 4 inch screen size

Finally, the much awaited and much hyped gadget, the Apple iPhone 5 has been launched. Unlike, its elder siblings, the new iPhone has evolved in appearance and features. Apple has gathered courage and personified the new baby with bigger display, perhaps due to the rising challenge from Android clan.

As per the trend, iPhone 5 meets every criteria of being a smartest smartphone but wow factor. There is no concrete reason to point why Apple iPhone 5 does not get the ‘wow’ from the geeks and tech analyst. Probably, the hungry tech lovers were anticipating highly in term of features and look.

When it comes to pricing, Apple played well to give it the same price tags as that of iPhone 4S. It may attract and users, who were expecting very fat budget for the newer generation. It will be available in 16, 32 and 64 GB versions & in two colors - Slate/Black and White/Silver.

As per source, the pre-orders for the iPhone 5 will commence on September 14, two days after the rumored date, 12 September as per iMore blog report. Apple unveil that in initial phase, iPhone 5 will hit the retails in US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore on September 21. Later, the retailers of 22 more countries can start selling the device September 28 onward.  As of now, Apple has not revealed its India launch plans, but it is sourced that iPhone 5 is expected to arrive in India in the first half of November 2012.

Also with the launch of iPhone 5, Apple also planned to discontinue the sale of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 8GB model will now be the entry-level iPhone variant in US.

Lots of facts and information has been shared associated with the launch of the device, it is time to move to the features of the new Apple baby.

Apple iPhone 5 is thinner than all previous Apple devices. It is only 7.66mm thick & weighs just 112 gram, which is 20% lighter the iPhone 4S. So, it is sexy in look with a slim and light body tone. It dons a Retina display 1136x640 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratios. On the board, there is a dual-core Cortex A6 processor based on A-15 chips from ARM and iOS 6. If the makers are to be trusted, this dual core processor will let the device run twice as fast as its predecessor without being quad-core. So, if it is not a quad core, users need not consider giving it less point in term of processor. It packs with a strong battery with 225 hours of standby time, 8 hours of 3G, 4G LTE browsing and 3G talk time, 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing and video playback, and 40 hours of music play time. Sounds, the battery is strong enough to make it an ace in smartphone category, when it comes to power management.

The makers have made iPhone 5 with an 8MP HD camera. A huge disappointment for those who were expecting not less than 12 megapixels camera in the new iphone:(.  But assimilation of just 8MP camera doesn’t make it a bad camera phone at all. It has many a good features such as dynamic low light mode, sapphire crystal and precision lens alignment to woo consumers.

This time, the front camera for FaceTime also supports HD videos at 720p. There is three microphones - at the bottom, top and rear for better sound during FaceTime calls. Also, iPhone 5 features a new beam-forming, directional microphone system, with background noise cancellation technology to make the conversation crisp and clear.

One other important change, iPhone 5 will not be compatible with existing SIM cards and buyers have to move to new nano-SIM cards.

A  new Maps app is there in the new iPhone. It has Apple-designed cartography, turn-by-turn navigation, and Flyover view. Let’s see the folk is going to savor the new Maps or they will miss the Google Maps badly (@_@).

Facebook integration in contacts and calendar apps along with the option to post directly from Notification Center is really a good feature :). This feature would go live with iOS 6 on September 19, said Apple.  Also, iOS 6 brings in 200 new features than the previous edition. Important among them to quote are more control over calls and messages and Passbook, new Siri features, and Facebook and Siri-enabled apps like Photos, Safari and Maps. The upgraded Siri promised to answer queries related to movies, restaurants, sports scores in a better manner.
